Mosaic Circle Network Launch: Students Embrace the Power of Belonging.
A new Diversity, Belonging and Wellbeing session at the University of Roehampton inspired MSc students to reflect, connect, and commit to action, with 95% recognising belonging as central to their university experience.
In welcoming MSc students from the University of Roehampton School of Life and Health Sciences, we saw how an empowering and inclusive learning environment enabled students to engage deeply with the concepts of diversity, wellbeing, and belonging.
An important insight that emerged was the honesty and authenticity of the students’ reflections. They spoke openly about the positive influence of belonging on confidence, identity, and wellbeing, while also recognising the harm that occurs when inclusion is absent. The creative outputs produced during the workshop were particularly impactful, offering fresh ways of understanding how belonging and unbelonging are experienced and expressed.
